WJWJT?

What jokes would Jesus tell?
While browsing through the excellent blog, Dark Biliuos Vapors, this morning, I ran across a link to this excellent piece on Lean Left about the chasm between so-called GOP "Christian values" and the actual teachings of Christ. While it is amusing, at the same time it troubles me immensely. I've come to the realization that "Christ" has become a mere symbol, or a brand logo if you will, for many self-professed christians. Instead of trying to understand what Christ taught, or how he lived, and finding their own way down that path, many evangelicals simply believe that if they say they believe in Jesus and they publicly accept him as their personal savior, and spout off the rhetoric that their corrupt and flawed preachers advertise in their services and now in the media (ie. gay marriage, just wars, anti-sex education, etc.) that they will recieve the ultimate dog-treat of eternal bliss in heaven. I understand that this is not indicative of all Christians, but at this time it's definitely indicative of the most vocal of them.
